A short pause in winter
A January thaw is a struggle.
In rural central New York, it looks like this.
Winter loosens its grip, but never fully leaves. Snow pulls back just enough to reveal what’s been waiting underneath.
This isn’t spring. It’s a pause.
This is rural upstate New York in January, caught between visits from winter.
