An Old Door

The door was once the protector of this home. Now the home is abandoned, and the door stands open to the elements. The wood is weathered and worn, and the metal is rusting. The doorknob, once shiny and new, was the first to greet any visitor. It now shows the last hint of what it used to be. Light still reflects from its smooth surface despite the cracks forming there. The only visitors now are the wind, rain, and snow.
